An RCMP officer today came across a dead whale washed up on the beach at Middle Amherst Cove, Bonavista Bay.

Photos taken by the RCMP officer from the Bonavista detachment shows the whale in a state of decay.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans were advised of the finding and plan to send members of the department to investigate.
