how can these homecare agencies be unionized, they can only pay what the government subsidizes the agenzies, if the government dont give these agencies any more funds then they cant pay out more money, the union is reaping the benefits here, i think, they cant negotiate a 13-14 dollar an hr pay rate if the agency can only pay 12.50 an hour ,go figure,

Congratulations Fellow HSW's. You will now be relieved of your hard earned money for the most laughable contracts ever negotiated! You now have the old labour law as your current contract. You have no occupational health & safety to speak of except said companies must provide you with latex gloves & aprons(which they seldom do), no medical insurance unless you pay the whole amount yourselves, your take home pay will be a little less than $10 an hour after government & nape dip their greedy hands into it. You will spend a small fortune in gas bills scooting here there & everywhere trying to care for your clients/patients, collecting their groceries, taking them to dr.'s appointments etc. all on your dime! If you get a "poor client" you will provide them with a sandwich for lunch because you can't eat & have a client/patient looking at you with nothing to eat themselves(this has happened to me many times). nape wins with dues, government wins with taxes & anything they can claw back through the back door., Us home care workers will struggle to make our own ends meet & are losing the battle.
