RNC seek witnesses to armed robbery

The RNC is requesting the assistance of the general public in identifying the person responsible for an armed robbery at a commercial business on Blackmarsh Road in St. John’s.

About 10:45 p.m. Monday, RNC officers from patrol services, K9, Forensic Identification Services and the Criminal Investigation Division responded to an armed robbery at Ultramar on Blackmarsh Road.

The male suspect entered the store and demanded cash before fleeing the scene. There were no injuries sustained during the commission of the offence.

The male suspect is described as approximately 5’6”- 5’7” with a skinny build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black bomber-style winter jacket, blue hoodie, light blue jeans, a scarf and bandana covering his face and black high top sneakers. The male fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash in the direction of Cashin Avenue and towards Ropewalk lane.

The RNC General Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking the assistance of the general public and anyone who has information is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
