Production vessel preparing for startup

Oil production by the Terra Nova FPSO is expected to get going and ramp up quickly in the coming days, according to Suncor.

The production vessel was included in an update on various operations, issued by the company this morning.

The Terra Nova FPSO had been taken offline and brought to the Marystown shipyard for maintenance work earlier this year.

It is now back offshore Newfoundland "in the final stages of commissioning in preparation for planned startup," according to the Suncor statement.

"The FPSO is expected to return to full production rates around the end of December."
