A 26-year-old woman was charged Thursday night with driving without a licence or insurance, and also faces a charge of fraud.

The RNC stopped the woman about 11:24 p.m. on Topsail Road in the area of the Village Mall in St. John’s.

The investigation resulted in charges of driving with no valid drivers license and no insurance.

The vehicle was impounded.

Officers were also aware of past issues with the woman and subsequently, a past complaint of fraud came to the forefront.

A charge of fraud and breach of a court undertaking was laid in connection with a complaint from a local business.

The woman was held in custody for a court appearance Friday.
