• Looks like there’s a few changes on the chicken front. Evidence suggests that some KFC outlets in St. John’s will soon be re-opening under the Mary Brown’s banner. Locations on Freshwater Road and Torbay Road intersecting Elizabeth Avenue are undergoing renovations. A Mary Brown’s vehicle was parked outside the Freshwater Road restaurant on Sunday, and a City of St. John’s building permit posted on the door at 61 Torbay Rd. said the applicant was Mary Brown’s Inc.
• Michelle Young has had a taste of bison and bison farming. She loved both, and now the Heatherton woman believes in her plan to farm bison in Western Newfoundland more than ever.
• Cancer, tracheotomies, IV lines and feeding tubes took a backseat to Santa, singing and dancing over the weekend when the RCMP held its 29th annual Christmas party at the Janeway children’s hospital in St. John’s.
