A representative for the current owner of the derelict cruise ship MV Lyubov Orlova has confirmed for The Telegram that they expect to tow it out of the harbour sometime before the end of next week.

The ship has been moored to the St. John’s waterfront for more than two years, ever since it was arrested on Sept. 25, 2010. The crew had not been paid in months and the owners at the time owed hundreds of thousands of dollars to various creditors.

The ship’s current owner has sent a tugboat to take the ship to a scrapyard.
