Man held in custody on driving-related charges

About 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man was taken into custody and held for court today after being pulled over by an RNC officer and charged with numerous driving-related offences.

The vehicle, which was unregistered, was pulled over on Blackhead Road in St. John’s.

The accused was found to owe more than $2,000 in outstanding fines.

He was issued tickets for operating a vehicle while suspended, not having insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle, failure to transfer ownership and failure to notify the registrar of motor vehicles of a change of addresss.

The car was impounded.
