Emergency crews respond to the scene of a collision on Topsail Road and Forbes Street Thursday night.
Firefighters, police officers and paramedics rushed to the scene of a serious accident on the corner of Topsail Road and Forbes Street in St. John's around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
An ambulance, which had two paramedics on board, had collided with an SUV. A rescue crew used extraction equipment to remove the female driver of the SUV, who was the only person in the vehicle.
The two paramedics and the driver of the SUV were all transported to hospital.

Yes, I totally agree. There's no mention whatsoever as to who was at fault and the ambulance drivers deserve much more respect. They save lives for a living and have an extremely difficult job. It must be so frustrating for them sometimes with so many rude drivers around who won't clear the way for them. Lots of people also listen to loud music with their windows up and don't hear the emergency vehicles....or pay attention. Emergency vehicles normally stop before going through red lights that they can't control.
Let me guess, another motorist with complete disregard for an emergency vehicle? I don't know how emergency responders do it around here because half of the drivers in this city have no idea what to do when they see an emergency vehicle, or they are just too busy to care... I hope all involved are ok.
does not surprise me. ambulances are supposed to follow the rules of the road if not on an emergency call with light ans sirens on. off duty, they still fly around "making work" for themselves just like the cops. no mention of the ambulance being on an emergency here.
No mention of how the accident happened at all, so don't jump to conclusions that the ambulance was the one to blame. It's called an accident for a reason. You'll be the one saying 'oops' someday when you're relying on their skills to save your life. Have some respect for the profession, and some respect for those involved in the accident and take it as another example of why we all as citizens need to pay a bit more attention to what is going on around us to avoid these situations.
