Over the holiday season, traffic checkpoints will be set up around the province by RCMP Traffic Services, RNC Traffic Services and Provincial Highway Enforcement.
Police see the same offences continuously, according to a news release from the RCMP, and often deal with the same drivers.
The checkpoints will focus on impaired driving, seatbelt use, distracted driving and proper documentation. They will be set up on the Avalon peninsula and in the Corner Brook, Deer Lake and Stephenville areas.
