Council hopes to meet with government about shipbuilding

The Burin Peninsula Joint Council expressed concern in a news release that the government may look outside the province for the construction of new vessels for the provincial ferry fleet.

The council says despite meetings with Kiewit Offshore Services and MHA Paul Davis, there appears to be a communication gap about the issue.

The council hopes to meet with government representatives as soon as possible, as “time is running out for the communities that require the ferry services and this region that requires the economic boost,” the news release states.

Its time for the people of marystown to wake up and see for themselves who is shafting them the most i would hazard a guess to say it is not kiewit or the government it is the workers themselves the same thing that happened to the fish plant with moulton, synard and others who are trying to make political points for the ndp its high time for the ffaw and the ndp try to represent the people not themselves
