Two break and enter investigations are underway in the Marystown area, and the RCMP is hoping the public can help.

According to a news release, one of the break and enters took place between 1 and 7 a.m. Wednesday, when suspect(s) broke into the back of the Midway Lounge and Gas Bar on the Burin Peninsula Highway. Change and cigarettes were stolen.

The other incident took place at a Marine Drive home between Monday and Wednesday, the RCMP says, when someone broke in through the back door. The homeowner was not there at the time. Several items were stolen, including a small Apple television, a long, gold rope necklace and about $100 in loonies and toonies.

Anyone with information about these, or other crimes, is asked to contact the Marystown RCMP at (709) 279-3001 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
