Charges of impaired driving after driver runs off road outside Goose Bay

The RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay responded to a motor vehicle accident at 4:50 a.m. about 24 kilometres from Goose Bay on Route 520 near Gosling Lake. Investigators have determined a van ran off the road into the snowbank with several passengers aboard. The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of impaired driving and taken back to the RCMP detachment in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

No one was injured during this accident and no other vehicle was involved.

Charges of impaired driving and impaired driving over 80 mg are now pending against a 34-year-old male from Natuashish. He’s due in Happy Valley-Goose Bay provincial court Feb. 20.
