Months after tropical storm Leslie swept through St. John’s, the city has finished chipping tree debris that fell in the high winds.

Now, the city is giving the wood chips away for free from Bowring and Quidi Vidi parks. Wood chips can be used for gardening.

The city also plans to chip Christmas trees that are dropped off at collection sites — so long as they are undecorated and unbundled. The dropoff locations include the Quidi Vidi Lake parking lot and the west parking lot of Bowring Park.
