The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary made multiple impaired driving arrests from the early hours of Friday into the beginning of the weekend, according to its overnight report issued Saturday morning.
At 6:30 a.m. on Friday, a man was arrested on Torbay Road for impaired driving and refusal of the breathalyzer. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
A possible impaired driver was reported heading east on Topsail Road at 9 p.m. The vehicle was later stopped and eventually charged with impaired driving and failure of the breathalyzer. Police said he will appear in court at a later date.
Inside a parked car near Anderson Avenue in St. John’s, officers spotted a man slumped over the wheel shortly after 2:15 a.m. A 21-year-old man who lives in New Brunswick was charged with impaired driving and refusal of the breathalyzer. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
