Asking auto repair shops to keep lookout for car from hit and run

The RNC is looking for a car that hit another vehicle on Baker Street in St. John’s early this morning and immediately left the area.

The hit and run was around 2 a.m., according to police.

“The suspect vehicle involved turned off Regent Street onto Baker Street where it struck a parked vehicle,” states an RNC notice, issued shortly after 9 a.m.

“The suspect vehicle then fled the scene heading east on Baker Street in the direction of Carrick Drive.”

Police have said the newer model, royal blue Mitsubishi Lancer they are searching for would have been damaged in the crash.

The front grill, driver’s side headlight and driver’s side front panel have noticeable damage, according to police.

The RNC is asking all garages and parts suppliers to be on the look out for the car.

Anyone who has any information in relation to the hit and run or the car in question is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1- 800-222-TIPS (8477).
