It could be a messy day underfoot on Friday for the St. John’s area.
According to Environment Canada, snow is expected to begin near noon changing to ice pellets, then to rain in the evening.

Meantime, a wind warning is in effect for the Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity, including the Wreckhouse area.
Winds gusting to 120 km/h are expected in the Wreckhouse area Friday.
Strong winds and snow is expected to develop over southern Newfoundland tonight and will spread northward on Friday.

Wind east 50 km/h gusting to 70 except gusting to 90 along parts of the coast in the morning and afternoon. Wind becoming northeast 30 gusting to 50 in the evening. High minus 1.
