Man charged after incident at family gathering

A 44-year-old St. John's man was arrested by RCMP officers Thursday after a family gathering in Tors Cove turned violent.

The man was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, four counts of assault and two counts of uttering threats.

The accused made a brief court appearance Thursday and was remanded into custody until Friday, Jan. 4 for a status update.
