Woman charged with driving-related offences

A 34-year-old woman was arrested in the area of Allandale Road in St. John’s Thursday for being in possession of a stolen vehicle registration sticker.

The woman was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for driving without insurance, failing to transfer ownership of the vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, and having a false registration sticker.

The vehicle was impounded bythe RNC and the accused released to appear in provincial court at a later date.

In another incident, about 11 p.m. in the Gower Street area, the RNC street patrol stopped a driver for having expired registration stickers on his vehicle.

The driver was charged under the Criminal Code for driving while prohibited and under the Highway Traffic Act for operating an unregistered vehicle.

The 32-year-old man was detained at the lockup for court today.
