The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.

Monday’s full edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded Sports section.

• From triumph to tragedy, courtroom drama to controversy 2012 was a busy year for news in Newfoundland and Labrador. In today’s edition, The Telegram presents its annual year in review, where we look back over the top 12 stories of 2012 — from the continuing story of Muskrat Falls to the tragic death of Burton Winters and its aftermath.

• Keeping in the reflective mood, the Sports section presents its year in review, looking back over the last year from a sold-out IceCaps season to national softball gold — times two.

Let's push everything else aside, 'cause there no bigger 2012 news then Muskrat Falls (MF) and the fiscal cliff NL and Canada is set to slide over in years to come. Wrong assumptions made by the NL Prov. Gov't. has it in trouble already -assuming the cost of oil will remain high. Wrong, right? Better suck back and reload on MF, as well - for Quebec will separate and NL can have all the Hydro Power ncessary from Churchall Falls (CF) plus other alternate sources. My prediction(s) is/are - MF will shove NL and its fine souls over the fiscal cliff making CF look like a good deal. cfa
