Province welcomes 2013

It's a new year in Newfoundland and Labrador, as many counted down the final moments of 2012 last night to welcome 2013.

In St. John's, celebrations continued in spite of the fact heavy winds forced the postponement of fireworks at Quidi Vidi Lake. The fireworks display is due to take place Tuesday at 8 p.m.

    The one day a year no one was arrested for public intoxication! Can I use this article to justify my drunken waterfront behavior on my October birthday? Only time will tell...
