One person has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a three-vehicle accident on the Trans Canada Highway near Paddy’s Pond.

The westbound lane of the highway is closed as of 6 p.m. Wednesday, but traffic has been re-routed through the Paddy’s Pond Access Road.

Two of the vehicles suffered extensive damage as a result of the accident, while the third vehicle landed in the median approximately 150-feet away from the other vehicles.

The closure of the westbound lane is expected to last until debris is cleared from the scene of the accident.

RCMP officers, ambulances, and the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to the accident.
