Man charged after RCMP seize marijuana

A 25-year-old man from Fortune has been charged with possession of illegal drugs for the purpose of trafficking after RCMP seized a pound of marijuana in the Fortune area.

Members of the RCMP Burin Peninsula District, RCMP Burin Customs and Excise Unit and members of the RCMP Patrol Vessel Murray completed an investigation which led to the seizure and arrest.

The accused was released from custody to appear in provincial court in Grand Bank Feb. 27.

The investigation is continuing.

    Get a life there Mike. Sounds like you've been smoking too much of the stuff. Great job there RCMP. Another pound off the streets. PS| Mike try some Buckleys!!

      You get a life there Leslie. If you haven't heard thousands of Canadians are licensed to smoke cannabis for medial use. When you get cancer and your not able to eat then I geus well just toss ya some buckleys too !!

    Tax dollars hard at work... give us a break. RCMP go do some real work. Cannabis - a healing herb (search 'hemp oil' & 'rick simpson'). Let people choose how they want to live their lives. Instead of the RCMP ruining people's lives, they should be advocating for changes to these draconian laws. Enough! (PS: a few drops of diluted oil at night - great for a sore throat!)
