The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.

Friday’s full edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded Arts & Entertainment section.

•  John Patrick McDonald may have failed the breathalyzer, but he wasn’t drunk when he was driving, an expert on how alcohol affects the body testified Thursday. “It’s most probable the range of blood alcohol content at the time (he was driving) was between .04 and .07,” Dr. John Weber said Thursday at McDonald trial in provincial court in St. John’s.

• They’re partial to a stroll through the park, but Thursday was the first stroll that Mrs. Enid and Eulalia have taken arm-in-arm through Bannerman Park — in character, anyway. The two articulate ladies are the inventions of actors Mary Walsh and Cathy Jones, and are usually spotted strolling in a park in Halifax on CBC-TV's “This Hour has 22 Minutes.”

• The Telegram’s Every Penny Counts campaign is off and running. With the Royal Canadian Mint phasing out the one-cent coin in February, we want you to donate your coins as part of our second annual Warm Hearts Campaign in aid of Iris Kirby House, a St. John’s shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse. Those who share their pennies will have their names put in a draw for an iPad and tickets to the Warm Hearts Gala, which last year featured the likes of The Novaks, Jerry Stamp and Ian Foster. Drop by The Telegram office at the Village Shopping Centre and help us load up the special Telegram newspaper box in the lobby with your pennies.
