The ferry serving the communities of Williams Harbour and Norman Bay in southern Labrador may end its service within days, depending on ice conditions, according to the Department of Transportation and Works.

The department said in a news release it’s monitoring ice conditions in the area and has been advised that winter ice is beginning to form.

“The vessel will continue to operate until ice conditions cause it to be removed from service, or until Jan. 31, which is the official end of the season,” the department said.

The MV Marine Eagle serves Williams Harbour and Norman Bay from May to January, as ice conditions allow.
