RNC seeking assistance in bridge fire investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is continuing to investigate a bridge fire in the area of Indian Pond Road in Conception Bay South on New Year’s Day.

Around 11 a.m., Jan. 1., RNC officers and firefighters from the Conception Bay South Fire Department responded to the call. The fire was contained to the railway track bridge at the end of Indian Pond Road.

There were no injuries reported but, as a result of the fire, the bridge is currently unsafe and not recommended for public use.

The RNC says fire investigators have determined that the cause of the fire is suspicious in nature and are seeking the assistance of the general public.
