The RNC announced today that, as a result of consultation with the Medical Examiners office, the death of the woman found at Powers Pond Park early Monday morning is no longer being treated as suspicious in nature.
The investigation, however, is still ongoing. The RNC says it does not believe there is a public safety concern at this time.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary plans to release more information later this morning on the death of a 33-year-old woman Monday in Mount Pearl.
The woman, who died at hospital, was found in critical condition in the area of Powers Pond Park at 1:48 a.m. Monday morning by RNC Patrol Services.
Const. Talia Murphy told The Telegram the RNC hopes to hold a news briefing later this morning.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) continues to investigate the death of a 33-year-old woman that happened in the area of Power’s Pond Park in Mount Pearl, but says there is no danger to the public.
“We do not believe there’s a public safety concern at this time,” Const. Talia Murphy told to The Telegram. “If that changes, we would report to the public immediately. That would be our No. 1 priority.”
Despite some media reports that suggested the woman was stabbed, Murphy said the woman “did not have any injuries that would be consistent with a stabbing.”
RNC Patrol Services answered an assistance call at 1:48 a.m. on Monday.
The victim was found within the park and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead. Police would not release the time of death.
Police wouldn’t confirm who made the assistance call, but did say it was to its communication centre.
The Telegram was on the scene early Monday morning, but RNC Const. Mike Shea was unable to give any information.
Questions mounted along with the falling snow outside the cordoned-off entrances of the park, and a lone dog-walker was turned away from the heavily-forested area.
The park, which features neighbourhood trails and canoeing, remained closed overnight while the RNC continued to investigate.
The criminal investigation division and the forensic identification section were at the scene. The RNC and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are working to establish the cause of death.

I am not related to this woman or her family, but if the police say the cause of death is not suspicious then that's where it ends. There isn't any part of me that wants or needs to know anything more than what's been reported. You're just being nosy.
