The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.

Tuesday’s full edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded Family section.

•  Two years ago today, Jill Ralph was working at a St. John’s pharmacy when two people walked in, drenched her in gasoline and threatened to set her on fire if they didn’t get what they wanted. Today, Ralph has moved on, using volunteer work to help her deal with the ordeal and to chart a new course for her life.

• A Newfoundland chef with many accolades to his name is missing in Ontario. Jonathan Gushue, 41, married and a father of three, was last seen in the downtown Toronto area Dec. 31. His family has had no contact with him since that date. “I know him really well,” Newfoundland food critic Karl Wells says. “I’m really shocked. Jonathan is the last person on Earth I expected to just disappear like this. He’s always been very steady, very reliable, extremely professional, and very much devoted to his family, from what I know.”

• New rules governing Employment Insurance (EI) take effect this week, and depending on who you ask, they’ll either benefit employers, help the economy, hurt workers or destroy rural Newfoundland.
