RNC investigating assault with weapon in St. John's

 The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating an assault early this morning on Topsail Road in St. John's near Pasadena Crescent.

According to police, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. A weapon was used and some medication and a small quantity of cash stolen.

The RNC said the victim told police he didn't know the suspects involved.

The victim was transported to Health Sciences Centre to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Around 3:28 p.m. Tuesday, the RNC also responded to a report of an accident involving a possible impaired driver. 

A short time later a 53-year-old man was detained by police for impaired driving and refusing the breathalyser as a result of a Collision in the area of Waterford Bridge Road. He was held in custody until a court appearance.

Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, another 53-year-old man was arrested in the Guy Street area of St. John's for multiple breaches of a court order. 

He was held at the city lock-up overnight to make a court appearance this morning.

A 33-year-old man was also charged with breach of court orders following a disturbance in the centre of St. John's around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
