RNC investigating overnight assault In Labrador west

 The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating an assault causing bodily harm in the area of Cavendish Crescent in the Labrador west region.

 Shortly before midnight, Thursday, RNC patrol services members and ambulance attendants from Capt. William Jackman Memorial Hospital were called to the area.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation had apparently taken place in a parking lot, resulting in a 34-year-old Labrador City man being conveyed to hospital, where he remains for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

 RNC officers and Forensic Identification Services members worked throughout the night gathering evidence at the scene. 

Today, RNC investigators are gathering additional details in the case and preliminary investigation indicates that there are no concerns for the safety of the general public arising at this time.

 The RNC is continuing to investigate this assault and would like to speak with

anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Anyone with information regarding
