Nain woman arrested in connection with stabbing

A 27-year-old woman has been arrested in Nain for aggravated assault and breaching a court order in connection with a stabbing shortly after midnight Monday.

RCMP in Nain were called to a home in the community where a man was reportedly stabbed.

On arrival, police located a man suffering from what's described as a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound.

The 37-year-old male victim was taken to the local clinic for treatment.

The female suspect will appear in provincial court later today.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing and police say alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.
