A 53-year-old Western Bay man is facing drug-related charges after RCMP officers seized marijuana, cash, a stolen television and drug paraphernalia during a search of a home and two garages this morning.

The charges against the man include possession of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking; production of cannabis marijuana, and possession of property under $5,000 obtained by crime.

The man has since been released from custody to appear in Harbour Grace provincial court on March 25.

Members of the Trinity Conception District RCMP conducted the search under a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant.

Who cares. It's marijuana. We hear about these "busts" every week. How does this make our society any better or safer? These laws need changing.
