Man passed out in vehicle, charged with impaired

A 56-year-old man was charged with impaired driving in the early hours of today after being found by RNC officers in a parking lot near Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John’s.

The man was passed out behind the wheel and the vehicle’s motor was still running.

The RNC says a concerned citizen called police about 1:09 a.m. to report a possible impaired driver in the area of the Boulevard.

The accused was released from custody to appear in provincial court at a later date.
