The RNC believes the use of a mobile phone to be the probable cause of an two-vehicle collision on the C.B.S. Highway in the area of Forest Road Tuesday evening.

The accident at about 7:40 p.m. sent the drivers of both vehicles (the only occupants of the vehicles) to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A summary offence ticket was issued to the driver alleged to have been using a mobile phone while driving.

Whatever happened to self-control? Can't we spend any time alone, away from it all? I actually enjoy my "disconnect" time alone in my car - away from the phone and the emails and the Twitters and FBs and all the rest.

At Jason......R U an engineer on making vehicles?" No way to contain inside "...really? Im not saying there is or isn't a way...I'm not going to try and pretend that I know the answers either...but clearly you know enough about it though. Leave it to people like you to pass comment on me for making a " suggestion"...am I the one who was involved or the cause of this accident they are refering too??? No harm in my comment at all...people have made it through life for thousands of years with out cellphones. Sit down and do the statistics on motor vehicle accidents surrounding cellphone use in the past 10 or so years. It will blow your mind!!! And to John....perhaps that app should be manditory. :)

There is an app available that disables your phone when it is moving...but I doubt many would put that on their phones...

What is it gonna take to make people understand how dangerous it is to use the freakin cell phone while driving???? On my way to work this morning, the girl in front of me was on the cell phone texting. I could see her while were on the off ramp, unless she was looking at something on her crotch for 2mins!!! Someone who engineers the makings of vehicles should come up with something that automatically interfers with cellphones upon entering a motor vehicle! Its the only way it can be stopped.

that plan just wouldn't work, if it interferes with cell phones while in the car then passengers couldn't use their phones either, and there's nothing wrong with that is there? Not to mention, there's no way to contain it INSIDE the car so with all the vehicles buzzing around if you're walking along the sidewalk you couldn't use your cell phone either. If you're going to suggest ideas at least put some thought into it and come up with something that's not completely ridiculous please.
