The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s accident investigation unit is seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a hit and run collision that occurred on Fowlers Road, Conception Bay South on Jan. 3.
About 5:15 p.m. that day, a 2012 Black Honda Civic and a 2011 GMC pickup collided on Fowlers Road. The driver of the Honda Civic failed to stop and provide the operator of the pickup with information required under the Highway Traffic Act.
Both vehicles were damaged. In particular, the driver’s side rear-view mirror of the Honda Civic was damaged, leaving evidence on the roadway.
Accident Investigators are continuing their investigation into this collision and are appealing to anyone in the area who may have witnessed the incident to notify the police. Police would like to alert all auto body repair facilities and parts suppliers to contact them with information on suspect vehicles as required under section 172 of the Highway Traffic Act.
