RCMP seize illegal weapon, arrest two men during search

Two men were arrested in Carbonear this morning after a search of a home by RCMP officers resulted in the seizure of an illegal weapon — a sawed-off shotgun.

RCMP obtained a search warrant after receiving information that an 18-year-old man was in possession of an illegal weapon.

Both men are presently in custody and will appear in Harbour Grace provincial court today to answer to several criminal charges.

The RCMP Emergency Response Team assisted in the case.

Shhhh, sawed-off shotgun sounds scarier, just what the media and police are going for, as they need to justify their archaic firearm laws. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story ;-)
