Man arrested in Labrador City stabbing incident

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Labrador City Detachment arrested and charged a 23-year-old man in relation to an incident on Cavendish Crescent in Labrador City last week.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

RNC patrol services and ambulance attendants from the Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital responded to a call shortly before midnight on Thursday, Jan. 10, where a 34-year-old Labrador City resident was brought to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The man appeared in Wabush provincial court Jan. 16, and a bail hearing was set for Monday morning. The court has imposed a publication ban on certain details of the case.
