A Labrador City man was granted bail on Wednesday after the RNC arrested and charged him last week in relation to an incident with a knife that put a man in the hospital.

RNC patrol services and paramedics from the Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital responded to a call shortly before midnight on Thursday, Jan. 10, where a 34-year-old Labrador City resident was brought to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Thomas Nason, 23, was granted bail with a personal recognizance of $1,000 and a $1,500 surety from an acquaintance.

Nason was released by judge Wynne Anne Trahey on the condition of keeping the peace and good behavior, must report daily to the RNC and must be in his residence between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Nason is also prohibited from possessing a knife, consuming alcohol or illegal substances and leaving the province. He is also not allowed near the location where the alleged events took place, make contact with certain individuals involved, or knowingly be in the presence of anyone with a criminal record.

Nason is scheduled to return to Wabush provincial court on Feb. 14. The court has imposed a publication ban on certain details of the case.

Mr. WELL.... Do you have any idea of the circumstances with this current situation? I am pretty sure your answer is NO... "So people like that" might have actually been defending himself... Hence the comments "Non-Life Threatening Injuries"
