St. John's defence lawyer Jeffrey Keith Brace has received a $1,200 fine and is prohibited from driving for 12 months as a result of impaired driving charges laid against him last year.
Brace, 52, pleaded guilting to operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit of 80 mgs per 100 ml of blood.
The Crown agreed to drop a charge of operation of a vehicle while impaired.
The charges were laid in August 2011.
