Robert Howlett Memorial Drive closed due to vehicular accident

Robert Howlett Memorial Drive from Doyles Road to Ruby Line is closed until further notice following a motor vehicle accident, says the RNC .The RNC is currently on the scene of a two vehicle collision in the area and an investigation into the collision, which occurred at 1 p.m., requires closure of the road.

The RNC is reporting extensive damage to both vehicles and two persons were transported to hospital with injuries believed to be non life threatening.

Tow trucks are in the process of removing the vehicles.

There is no cause of the accident reported at this time but the RNC is advising motorists of snow covered, slippery road conditions and reduced visibility. The RNC is reporting snow drifts in the area they are also advising drivers to increase the distance between themselves and the vehicle ahead. They also recommend that drivers reduce speeds significantly in winter driving conditions.
