A man and woman were arrested Sunday in connection with a violent robbery and assault in the Cowan Heights area of St. John's earlier this month.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a 25-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were arrested for robbery with violence and assault with a weapon in an open area in Cowan Heights on Jan. 18.

Both were held in custody until a court appearance.

Also on the weekend, around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, RNC patrol officers responded to a residence in Foxtrap in Conception Bay South in response to report of man uttering threats. As a result, a 19-year-old C.B.S. man was arrested for uttering threats against property.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.

Shortly after 4:15 p.m. Sunday, a 31-year-old man was issued driving violation tickets following a traffic stop on Campbell Avenue in St. John's. He was issued a summary offence ticket for driving while suspended, operating an unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle without insurance. The vehicle he was operating had been earlier impounded.

Around 4:20 p.m. Sunday, RNC officers also responded to a report of a theft in progress at a Mount Pearl grocery store.

About an hour later, officers arrested a 26-year-old St. John's man in the centre city area of St. John's for theft under $5,000 and breach of court orders. He was held in custody until a court appearance.

The RNC is also investigating a pedestrian accident in St. John’s Sunday. Police say a woman was walking across Freshwater Road when she was struck by a vehicle. She was taken to the Health Sciences Centre for treatment. The RNC said her condition wasn’t known, but it seemed to be of a serious nature.

A 48-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer Sunday after being stopped driving the wrong way on George Street and a 35-year-old man was charged with impaired after driving into a snowbank in the area of Mayor Avenue.

What was it someone wrote about my dear wife LynnAnn...I think I read the death threat of "String Her Up" if I remember correctly. LynnAnn has a brain infected with ammonia....and media condoned the publishing of a pubic death threat for her being sick and near death already. What would you say about a real criminal? torcher? Beheading? public stoning? You make me sick!!!!!!!
