Trinity Conception RCMP says a beagle seized Monday from a property in Bay Roberts is recovering nicely at a local veterinarian clinic in the area.
The RCMP said in a news release today, the dog is being treated for hypothermia and malnutrition and is expected to make a full recovery. Once treated, the beagle will be turned over to the SPCA in St. John's. An investigation is continuing.
Another beagle dog on the property was found dead and is believed to have died from the cold weather conditions.
The RCMP has released photos of the surviving beagle and shelters the dogs were housed in.

My dear Mary and all her townie PETA friends below: you ought to get out more and have a look at the state of people's houses in more than a few parts of rural Newfoundland. Seriously....reality check on aisle two. I don't hate dogs, but do you hate people?
