RNC investigating five-vehicle collision

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating  a five-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday afternoon in St. John’s.

According to police, RNC officers responded to the collision around 5:35 p.m. in the area of Blackmarsh Road and Columbus Drive.

The RNC said it was reported that a vehicle was driving west in the eastbound lane on Columbus Drive when the collision occurred. There were no reported injuries. Two vehicles were towed from the scene, the remaining three were driven from the scene.

Police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
