Michael Bishop will stay in jail if the Crown has its way. The 30-year-old appeared in court before noon today, and is due back this afternoon.

Prosecutor William Caddigan told Judge Greg Brown the Crown is opposed to releasing Bishop from jail before the case was set over to this afternoon.

A 30-year-old man is facing a number of charges following an incident at a home in Paradise about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Michael G. Bishop of Paradise is charged with robbery, two counts of assault (on a woman and a man), uttering threats to the woman over the phone and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The woman victim received minor injuries.

The RNC also determined there was an outstanding warrant for the accused. He faces four charges from previous incidents involving theft from the North Atlantic gas station in Paradise on four separate dates in 2012 (Aug. 29, Sept. 18, Nov. 5 and Nov. 7.).

Bishop is due to appear in court today.

Before Paradise became a booming new residential area, hillbillys (some, not all) used to live up there in the woods. The trouble that is caused in Paradise comes mostly from the offspring of these hillbillys.

Paradise is not fit to live in! What a town of scum and villainy. Who would move there to live?
