Youths arrested in connection with damaged boats at Lewisporte Marina

Two youths have been arrested in connection with damage to boats at the Lewisporte Marina on the weekend of Jan. 12-13.

Lewisporte RCMP said today they have arrested a 15-year-old youth from Gander and a 17-year-old youth from Lewisporte.

Both will appear in provincial court in Gander in March.

On Jan. 14, RCMP in Lewisporte were notified that seven boats located at the Lewisporte Marina were forcibly entered, with most of the vessels sustaining considerable damages.

There were several windows damaged, and inside the boats were left in a mess. There were flares taken from the boats, as well as a flare gun and a portable CD player.

The broke in and stole and caused damage to seven boats, that people bought with hard earned money. The police arrest them, the judge will get them and give them a slap on the wrist. Next step will be to do it all over again. Best thing to do, is get them both shoveling snow for a few days around seniors homes. Give them appreciation for how hard some people work to get what they have and not have some little puke steal and damage it.
