Volunteer Hall of Fame call for nominations

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Hall of Fame is accepting nominations from now to March 31 for its second annual volunteer recognition awards. An event announcing that nominations are open was held in St. John's Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. Among those speaking at the event (appearing in order on the video) are: Toby Barnes, president of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Newfoundland and Labrador and co-founder of the Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Hall of Fame; Penny Rowe, CEO of the Community Sector Council which was inducted last year; and Geoffrey Carnell, managing director of Carnell's Funeral Home Ltd. and Carnell's Management Inc. Carnell was one of the first volunteers inducted last year into the Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Hall of Fame.
