Two people on snowmobile, who were reported missing Thursday night in Postville, Labrador, were located early this morning safe in a cabin.

RCMP in Postville received a complaint around 9:05 p.m. Thursday that a couple, returning to Makkovic from Postville on snowmobile had not made it back into the community.

An investigation revealed that the couple had traveled to Postville earlier in the day to visit with friends and after spending time in the community, left Postville around 4 p.m.

A typical trip between the two communities usually takes about one-and-a-half to two hours.  The Postville Ground Search & Rescue Team (GSAR) initiated a search. Winds were high at the time and freezing rain was falling.

Around 1:07 a.m., the RCMP was notified that the missing couple had been located by the search and rescue team in a cabin safe and sound.  They were then escorted back to Makkovic without further incident.
