Garage fire in Portugal Cove

Firefighters and police responded to an early morning fire at a garage in Portugal Cove on Sunday.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s overnight report, the fire on Portugal Cove Road was first reported at 2:20 a.m. Damage to the garage was said to be moderate, with no reports of injuries.

Members of the Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze. Investigators are attempting to determine the cause of the fire.
