The Telegram website offers only a sample of the stories our reporters, editors and photographers work hard to get to the public every day.

Tuesday’s full edition of The Telegram, on the other hand, contains much, much more, from news to opinion to our expanded Sports section.

• Defence lawyers for a convicted murderer are still reeling from the guilty verdicts.

“It’s been emotionally draining for everyone. We all took this very hard,”  Peter Ralph said Monday.

Ralph and his wife Rosellen Sullivan represented Steven Michael Neville in a seven-week trial at Newfoundland Supreme Court in St. John’s.

• Former auditor general and failed Tory candidate John Noseworthy got paid $148,960 in taxpayers’ money for less than 10 months’ work, and it’s unclear whether the public will be able to actually see what the money paid for.

Noseworthy finished a consulting contract with the Department of Advanced Education and Skills to do a “Business Development Project” in late December, although Advanced Education and Skills Minister Joan Shea hasn’t actually seen the report yet.

• Walter Harding owes a lot to his mom, who reared six kids on her own.

But the St. John’s man is also extremely grateful Gary Morgan was part of his life.

“To say that he is probably one of the most important people in my life would be pretty accurate,” Harding says of his Big Brother.

This year is the 100th anniversary of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Canada, and the relationship between Harding and Morgan could be chalked up as one of the organization’s success stories.
