Visitation restriction are now in place at a Grand Falls-Windsor long-term care facility due to the presence of Influenza A, according to Central Health.

In a news release issued Wednesday, the regional health authority said the order is effective immediately at Carmelite House. Exceptions will be made for families of palliative care residents.

Family members with questions are being asked to call the nursing station at 489-2274.

A number of health care facilities across Newfoundland and Labrador have implemented visitation restrictions this winter in light of the risk of contracting influenza illness.
